Worm TV!

Sure, you probably never watched the TV show based on Tremors, but now’s your chance to own it!

Attention horror buffs with awesomely questionable taste: Tremors: The Complete Series hits DVD today, allowing lovers of campy B-grade monster flicks to enjoy the TV show that spun off of the sequel that spun off of the sequel that spun off of that Kevin Bacon movie that everybody loved!

As you recall, the original Tremors was about a former mining town named Perfection, which was attacked by giant worm creatures. As you perhaps less recall, Tremors 2: Aftershocks exported some of the townsfolk to Mexico, where they learned that the worms developed into vicious, shrieking mini-dinosaurs. Tremors 3: Back to Perfection returned the group home to learn the shriekers could develop into winged creatures that fly by farting fire. For some reason, this birthed Tremors: The Series, which lasted one season and found Perfection now home to government scientists and a beloved giant albino worm.

Don’t worry, Michael Gross, aka the dad from Family Ties, makes it through all three movies to star in the series. And Christopher Lloyd makes baffling series appearances as well, as a character named “Cletus.”

If after watching the TV show, you want even more Tremors, then you should definitely pick up Tremors 4: The Legend Begins, a prequel which traveled back to the 1800’s when worms first invaded the town. Of course, Michael Gross is in this film as well, playing his character’s great grandfather.
