Morgan Webb’s Video Game Wish List
Tonight, television’s longest-running video-game show airs its landmark 1,000th episode with hosts Morgan Webb and Adam Sessler looking back at X-Play’s greatest moments. To mark the occasion, we caught up with Morgan for her most anticipated games of the coming year.
God of War III
(Release: March 16)
"There's nothing like a cliffhanger ending to make you crave the next installment. God of War I and II told the story of one man taking on the gods of Mt. Olympus in a quest for redemption and revenge. I'm preparing for the final showdown to make its way to the PS3."
Star Wars: The Old Republic (Release: TBD)
"When The Old Republic finally hits shelves, forget my phone number. This rabidly anticipated MMORPG may just be big enough to knock the crown prince World of Warcraft off his lofty throne. The game is such an ambitious undertaking, though, there’s widespread fear we may not see it until 2011."
World of Warcraft: Cataclysm (Release: TBD)
"Cataclysm shatters the World of Warcraft map, updating the entire game while keeping its existing player base intact. The day they turn off the old world and players log into the new Azeroth is a day the entire Internet may actually slow to a crawl."
Crackdown II (Release: TBD)
"The first Crackdown was a stylized game where you could upgrade your agent to jump higher and punch harder in a single-handed onslaught against the gangs. With the addition of multi-player to Crackdown II, nothing will keep me from this game come its day of release."
Splinter Cell: Conviction (Release: April 1)
"The Splinter Cell series was becoming tired, sticking to the old formula for one too many games. Then the E3 trailer for Conviction rocketed the franchise back into the hearts of gamers everywhere. More dark and brooding than previous games, this action-oriented installment boasts a sharp sense of art direction that will be copied for years to come."
