GCD Exclusive Interview: Michael Emerson
GCD: You guys were splintered last year because of the time
shift. How did that affect the social atmosphere of the show?
Emerson: Well, the show gets more fragmented each season
which means you see fewer and fewer of the rest of the cast members as time
goes by. There are people on the show that I still haven't really had a scene
with, like Daniel Dae Kim. I know him from New York and we're friendly and I see
him socially on the island but I can't remember the last time I saw him on the
set or in the makeup.
GCD: You have a great talent to charm and manipulate on
screen. Ever use this ability in real life?
Emerson: If I have a plausibility gift, it is strictly
reserved for the realm of acting. I am the worst liar on earth. Even in the
simplest ways of just getting things done or, you know, trying to get into a
nightclub, whatever, I have no luck at those things.
GCD: How many nightclubs are you trying to get into,
Michael?
Emerson: Well, I'm not really trying to get into very many
but if I needed to get into a night club, I would confront the one doorman who
has never watched the show and he would immediately think I was some operator.
