Venture into Yesteryear!
New Venture Bros toys pretend they’ve been around since the 70s
You have plenty of nerdy dreams that may never come true: owning a fully-functional Batman utility belt. Finding a larger audience for your
Babylon 5 femslash tales. Seeing a Transformers movie directed by anyone other than Michael Bay.
Finally one of your nerdesires has been realized: Venture
Bros action figures hit store shelves today! (And after only seven years on TV.) Created by toy manufacturer Bif
Bang Pow!, the figures are modeled after the legendary Mego superhero line from
the 70s. Standing 8-inches tall and swathed in cloth costumes, online opinion has been mixed about going this retro-route. GeekChicDaily
is prepared to make the definitive judgment: shut up, haters. These toys are awesome.
The first batch of figures include family patriarch Dr.
Venture, dedicated archenemy The Monarch, sweater vest-sporting Dean and, of
course, ultra-violent bodyguard Brock Samson, who comes clutching his signature knife. Plus plans for
the next set are already in motion. At San Diego Comic Con, Bif Bang Pow!
revealed that the line will expand to include Hank Venture, Dr. Orpheus, Phantom Limb and Dr. Girlfriend. Now all we need is a figure of creator Jackson Publick to scream at in frustration until the release of Season 5.
