George Lucas On Trial!

Documentary Shoots First At Lucas...Then At Fans!

In the title crawl of your lives, there was only one first viewing of Star Wars, one early bird card per household.  No one knew why The Emperor's eyebrows looked like deep-fried marshmallows, or who (or what) filled out a Stormtrooper's armor. Then: Anger! Hate! Prequels! Star Wars fans were madder than Chewbacca in a burr bush.

Some took the argument into their own hands (remember The Phantom Edit?) The dark side fell over the first wave of Star Wars aficionados. A younger generation took ownership of new Star Wars stories told in serial form: The Clone Wars. Episodes IV-VI were called old-fashioned. Too slow. Who’s right? Tomorrow, August 20th, 2010, you can have a front row seat at the trial of George Lucas!

The People Vs. George Lucas is an excellent and surprisingly even-handed take on the debate raging betwixt generations of Star Wars fandom. Don't miss your chance to see it at Wizard's Chicago Comic Con 2010! If George Lucas wins, he gets to continue making zillions of dollars off us. If not, we get to pelt him with still-carded Ahsoka Tano figures. Well, one of those things will happen anyway.

To bone up on the case, meet the man behind the movie, director Alexandre Philippe, in our exclusive interview!
