One Stein To Rule Them All

Big enough for a man, made for a hobbit

Generally speaking, you do not have enough dragons in your house. And you most certainly do not have enough of them on your drinkware. How can you possibly stay sufficiently hydrated when your cabinet is devoid of serpentine cups?

Obviously, it is time to buy a beer stein depicting the dragon Smaug The Magnificent from J.R.R. Tolkien’s The Hobbit. Created by Taverncraft—the same folk behind the World of Warcraft schooners like the Murloc mug that was just announced yesterday—this stein is the first in the company’s line of drinking vessels based on the prequel to Lord of the Rings. It depicts Bilbo in Smaug’s treasure-laden lair grabbing a cup that definitely won’t be missed. The massive stoneware mug is probably not appropriate for actual hobbits, because, at more than 10-inches tall, it would be about the size of their entire torso. (Or maybe that means it would be perfect for hobbits.) Special added bonus: The pewter lid bears the One Ring, which is pretty amazing because, from what we understand, it's usually much harder to obtain.

Although the steins don’t ship till September, they’re available for pre-order at a discount until June 30. After that, you’re pretty much going to have to steal them from a dragon’s lair.
