Make your own Adult Swim DVD!
Plunder Cartoon Network’s vaults to create ultimate mix of deviant humor
Remember how much fun you used to have making mix tapes? You’d lock yourself in your room and obsess over song selection, so you could show high school crushes just exactly how deeply and awkwardly you cared for them. Thanks for ruining that particular joy, iTunes Genius function.
Well, time to recapture the magic. Except now, instead of creating a mix tape, you’ll be creating a mix DVD. And instead of choosing songs, you’ll now be choosing episodes of Adult Swim shows. Otherwise, it’s totally the same.
Check out the Build a Custom DVD program at AdultSwimShop.com—it will be available starting at 3 pm Eastern time this afternoon, but the fine folks at Adult Swim gave us a heads-up so that we could get word out to GCD subscribers right away. On the site, you can mix ‘n match episodes from your favorite Adult Swim original shows and toss them all onto one DVD. You then use artwork from the shows to design your DVD’s case, menus and disc face. Each homemade masterpiece costs $20 and ships within 48 hours.
Currently, the site has about 100 episodes to play with, including eps of Robot Chicken, Aqua Teen Hunger Force, The Venture Bros., Tim & Eric Awesome Show, Great Job! and Sealab 2012. Even better, Adult Swim promises to have every episode from every one of its original shows available in time for the holidays—that’s more than 1,000 episodes from more than 30 different series. Because nothing says Merry Christmas like a customized mix of Squidbillies, Frisky Dingoes and everybody’s favorite gun-toting arse, Assy McGee.
