Fish and Cheese

Syfy’s Saturday night movie Mega Piranha is just as terrible as you’d hoped it would be

The poster for Syfy’s new movie Mega Piranha depicts a giant piranha taking a bite out of an aircraft carrier.

So obviously, it’s based on a true story.

The film’s mildly-comprehnsible plot: Scientists manipulate piranha DNA to create a bigger fish they plan to use as a local food source. But the next thing you know, the piranha break loose and decide to swim for Florida, growing and multiplying along the way. The other next thing you know, one of the scientists is played by Tiffany. As in, the pop singer Tiffany. As in, the pop singer who has little-to-no acting experience Tiffany. Obviously this is awesome.

Premiering tomorrow at 9 pm, Mega Piranha was created by the good folks at The Asylum, who are the modern masters of creating intentionally terrible monster movies. To show fans exactly how campy this whole mess will be, Syfy released this brief scene. Does anything that happens in the scene make any sense at all? Absolutley not. But does it make you want to see the film now more than ever?

Yes. Yes, it does.
