Cartoon Time Machine
Remember an era when the only day you watched cartoons was Saturday
Back in the ’80s, you were a kid and just about the only
thing you wanted to do was sit in your pajamas and watch cartoons. Now it’s the
2010s, you're a full-grown adult and just about the only thing you want to do
is... sit in your pajamas and watch cartoons.
But whatever, we call it
animation now, which makes the whole thing way more mature.
To relive the root of your addiction, check out the new DVD
compilation Saturday Morning Cartoons: 1980s, a four-hour reminder of your Saturday morning stare-a-thons. The
animation lineup includes: Mister T, Chuck Norris: Karate Kommandos,
The Completely Mental Misadventures of Ed Grimley, The Flintstone Kids,
Monchhichis, Kwicky Koala Show, Galtar and the Golden Lance, Dragon’s Lair and the always awesome Thundarr the
Barbarian. Although each cartoon sadly only
has one episode on the discs, it’s still a nostalgia marathon. Remember how
weird it was that Mr. T coached a gymnastic team? Remember how Thundarr’s blond
bob haircut totally got copied by that punk He-Man?
The only thing you may not remember is when Ed Grimley had
his own cartoon. Seriously, how did that ever happen?
