Is Alcatraz Haunted?
Ghost Hunters’ Steve Gonsalves looks for Casper on the Rock
Last season, SyFy’s Ghost Hunters investigated a haunted aquarium, the Hindenberg
crash site, and, of course, Mark Twain’s house. So for tonight's premiere of their new season, which aslo happens to be their 100th episode, the Hunters wanted to do something
even more extra-special.
We know what you’re thinking, “How do you get any more
extra-special than Mark Twain’s house?” Well, we have one word for you:
Alcatraz.
Yup, the TAPS crew get locked on the Rock tonight at 9 pm EST on SyFy. “There was some really cool activity there,” promises
investigator Steve Gonsalves (pictured). “I don’t want to tell you exactly what, but there
were definitely things that happened that I can’t explain for the life of me.”
Tonight’s two-hour event will be interspersed with live
Q&A sessions with the cast, mediated by Destination Truth’s Josh Gates. “It’s live, so you never know,”
Gonsalves says. “Someone may come up with some zany question and we all turn
red and they have to cut the camera.”
Fingers crossed! But even if no one utterly embarrasses
themselves on national television, Gonsalves promises the show will pack its usual nerdjoyment. “Everybody loves horror movies and sci
fi, and this fits right into that genre,” Gonsalves says. “Who doesn’t like
thinking about what could happen if you were in the dark at 3 in the morning in
some abandoned asylum? Not everyone would want to be there, but a lot of people
would like to see what, if anything, goes down. We’re there to show it.”
